It’s me again, to remind you of this month’s best denim. I kind of outgrew my current denim file and was shopping for a few new pairs, but before I started searching, I set myself some stringent criteria: no rips, no baggy silhouettes, and nothing light-washed. J Brand mastered the art of perfect denim, so it was the first brand I switched to in search of a new pair, of course. I wasn’t surprised to find eight pairs I can’t stop thinking about now. Hopefully, I’m hitting the jackpot so I can buy every single piece from its new collection, but here are my favorites for now.
Badass’s epitome with a capital B is cognac-brown, snake-print leather pants. Those babies also have a matching blazer that gives me all the red carpet impressions of the early 2000s.
Since I can recall, J Brand has perfected coated denim, and this season is no different. This skinny black pair has a leather-jean effect that gives you an unlimited amount of go-out outfits regardless of the occasion.
The color is not only holiday-apropos, but it also has the right amount of distress at the opening of the leg to give it some meaning.
I’m still down for a nice cropped flare, but that’s what stands out for me as a true-blue wash. The tidy silhouette, even if you decide to wear a T-shirt with it, gives this pair an elevated feel.
Black jeans of high-rise, but make them fancy. These are satin, making them perfect when you want to dissect the LBD for a more formal event.
